It is clear that all electrical appliances have become more common and as a result, the amount of time spent doing housework has decreased between 1920 and 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Concerning the percentages of families with electrical appliances, refrigerators experienced a significant jump in popularity, from 0% in 1920 to 90% in 1960, and continuing to climb to 100% from 1980 onward. Vacuum cleaners have a higher start, at 30% in 1920, before gradually rising to 70% in 1960 and reaching their peak at 100% in the remaining years. The percentage of washing machines, on the other hand, witnessed an increase of 30% from 1920 to 1960 but fell slightly in 1980 then recovered and stopped at approximately 70% in 2019.<\/span><\/p>\n The hours spent washing clothes, preparing meals, and cleaning for households have plummeted from 50 hours in 1920 to 20 hours per week by 1960.
